Alison Nakamura Netter
Alison Nakamura Netter is a strategic communications professional with nearly 15 years of experience in nonprofit and consumer public relations. Prior to joining ZanaAfrica Foundation, Alison served as Director of Marketing & Communications for the Food Bank For New York City where she oversaw and managed the implementation of strategic communications and marketing programs to increase awareness of the organization’s anti-hunger programs and services. She has served as a senior leader in nonprofit organizations and public relations firms and has garnered extensive media coverage in national and international news outlets, elevating public awareness for a range of causes from ending sex trafficking in Cambodia with the Somaly Mam Foundation, to promoting diversity in the Arts with the Ghetto Film School. Alison holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and a BA in Sociology from Northeastern University.
