ZanaAfrica is a leader in menstrual health management and sexual and reproductive health and rights education that leverages sanitary pads and health education as a combined intervention for women and girls’ development. We uniquely recognize that this powerful combination is one of the smallest hinges to unlock girls’ potential and break cycles of poverty.

Our Foundation develops innovative reproductive health education solutions designed to provide complete and comprehensive support alongside sanitary pads to keep girls healthy, in school, and able to make informed decisions

Our social impact business arm, ZanaAfrica Group separately manufactures and distributes high quality, low-cost feminine hygiene products through the marketplace using aspirational brands designed for women, and by women, creating safe spaces to learn about health and reclaim dignity.

Our Layered Approach

Together, we provide an integrated, scalable ecosystem of support to ensure girls stay in school, are healthy, safe and able to navigate adolescence on their own terms. By leveraging the expertise of both organizations, we are able to ensure that girls and women of all ages and backgrounds have the lifetime support they need to be healthy, informed, and to boldly live their purpose.

In 2017, ZanaAfrica Group partnered with NIVI to pilot the scaling of a free mobile phone service that empowers women to access accurate family planning information and the ability to choose a method that is right for them, as well as connect them to private and public health facilities in Kenya. The Nia sanitary pad package provides a platform for delivering this high quality, reliable, and free reproductive health resource for girls and women to access an array of Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning information and services.
