ZanaAfrica launches Nia HealthLink to address Homa Bay County triple threat

Kenya’s Homa Bay County, with its high rate of HIV infections, teen pregnancies, and gender-based violence among adolescents and young adults, now benefits from ZanaAfrica’s Nia Healthlink. Our hotline number and WhatsApp tools are available to residents who can forward their cases of human rights violation for help.

Nia HealthLink will enable residents to share their problems with confidence, according to a representative from Homa Bay Gender & Youth Affairs.

Zana Africa conducted a rapid assessment through focus group discussions on knowledge, attitude, and perception of the community of school-going children regarding the implementation of Nia HealthLink.

Our programmes manager Alice Onsarigo shared that investing in menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health will help address the issues that promote a triple threat that includes HIV-Aids, Sexual Gender Base Violence (SGBV) and teen pregnancies at a press event.

“We have tailored our information for the targeted group to make informed choices on health issues,” she says.
